2018 SDYC Jr. Invitational

Team MBYC showed up to the JR Invitational 18 sailors strong with kids on both the inside La Playa course and the course outside in San Diego Bay. Saturday saw steady breeze around 10 knots with building current more of a factor on the outside course. Sunday started with more breeze early but then developed into some more erratic conditions with Tropical Storm Rosa looming. Thank you to all our parents who towed trailers and supported the team on land. None of this is possible without you.

In the A Fleet, Shane threw down early starting the racing with a 1, 2! He held on all weekend and finished an impressive 3rd place overall. He proved he is a new force to be reckoned with at the top end of this extremely competitive fleet. In the B fleet, both our sailors, Ben and Oakley, took to the podium finishing 3rd and 5th respectively. Lina and Kaden brought home 4th and 5th in C1 while on the inside course Paige kept the C2 fleet on their toes, winning 4 of the 10 races and coming in a close 2nd overall.
